Zoning board shoots down misconceptions about basketball nets

The zoning board has released a statement regarding the placement of basketball nets.

The Burlington Township zoning board has released a statement regarding the placement of basketball nets. The statement on the Township’s website reads, “Burlington Township’s Zoning Ordinance 330–34K(1) refers to permanent structures not permitted in the area between the road and sidewalk (right-of-way).”

The May 19 statement goes on to clarify that as basketball nets can be moved and since they are considered temporary, the nets can be in the “right-of-way” area between the road and sidewalk. Portable basketball nets may be place in the right-of-way during the period of use but should be removed one hour of use, according to the statement.
