Kennedy Health to host day of fun-filled activities, 5K Run/Walk

For the seventh consecutive year, Kennedy Health will host a day of fun-filled activities to celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day on Sunday, June 4. The popular Cancer Survivors Day celebration will be held at Washington Lake Park.

This year also marks Kennedy’s third annual Cancer Survivors Day 5K Run/Walk. The 5K Run/Walk kicks off at 8:30 a.m. Day-of-event registration will begin at 7:30 a.m.

The 5K Run/Walk is followed by festivities that run from 9 a.m. to noon. All survivors will have the opportunity to enjoy a light breakfast, the Cancer Survivors’ Lap, a horticultural craft and an art project.

Other community activities include: family activities, kid’s lap, wellness demonstrations, food trucks and vendors.

The event is open to the public, however the registration fee to take part in the 5K Run/Walk is $30. Participants receive a race t-shirt and giveaway bag with registration.

Visit www.kennedyhealth.org/survivors5k to reserve your spot. Race-day registration will also be available for $40.

All cancer survivors will receive a free commemorative t-shirt. Proceeds benefit the Kennedy Cancer Center’s Patient Assistance Fund, which provides financial support to Kennedy Health cancer patients in need.
