Township Council votes to add to Medford strip mall on Route 70

Changes are coming to the intersections of Hartford Road and Route 70 and Route 541 and Church Road.

Additionally, council unanimously voted last Tuesday night to ban left turns in and out of the future Dunkin’ Donuts from Route 541. The Dunkin’ Donuts will be located at the corner of Route 541 and Church Road.

The layout will be similar to the ban on left turns to and from the Wawa from Church Road, located at the same intersection and across the street.

The meeting also included a proclamation for Brad Devlin, a member of Boy Scout Troop 20 who recently earned Eagle Scout status, the highest rank and honor of the Boy Scouts of America. Devlin’s project was to relocate the memorial stone at Freedom Park and restore the surrounding shrubbery.

The memorial stone honors those killed in the 9/11 attacks.

The proclamation noted Devlin’s leadership skills as a key asset to the Boy Scouts of America’s Troop 20.

The ceremony for Devlin’s Eagle Court Honor was scheduled to take place on Sunday at Little Mill Country Club.

The next council meeting will be Thursday, June 1. The day was changed from its typical first Tuesday of the month because of scheduling conflicts related to the upcoming primary elections, which will be held that Tuesday, June 6. Incumbent Councilman Charles Watson, Erik Rebstock and Bradley Denn are running uncontested in the Republican primary. The Democratic primary, featuring candidates Stanley Czyzyk, Kelly Clark and Kenneth Brahl, is also uncontested.
