Seneca High School’s Air Force JROTC earns a variety of awards

Seneca currently has 127 cadets.

Seneca High School’s Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) program was recently awarded the Distinguished Unit Award with Merit (DUA), the Distinguished Unit Award (DUA), and the Outstanding Organization Award (OOA) for the 2016–2017 school year from the AFJROTC Headquarters. According to Colonel Bob Woods, representative from the Department of the United States Air Force University (AETC) and AFJROTC Headquarters (Alabama), the awards “recognize the personal growth and accomplishments of the cadets, contributions of the instructors as mentors, and the support of the school and local community.”

Seneca High School’s AFJROTC instructors are Major Sean Hoggs and Master Sergeant John Brooks. Seneca Principal Jeff Spector commended the cadets, instructors, and the program, stating, “This recognition affirms what our students and staff see on a daily basis from the cadets and instructors. I’m proud of all of the cadets and instructors who have worked extremely hard to earn this recognition out of the 827 Air Force JROTC and NDCC program worldwide.”
