On May 20, residents are invited to attend a free opioid epidemic awareness and educational expo entitled “Conquering the Epidemic” at DeMasi Middle School from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event is being sponsored by non-profit “King’s Crusade,” which was formed by Marlton resident Sue Harrison and her sister in memory of their brother, who they lost to a heroin-fentanyl overdose in October of last year.
The Conquering the Opioid Epidemic Awareness and Educational Expo is a free to the public to attend. There will be a continental breakfast and food trucks available all day.
This event is organized for anyone of any age that wants to learn more about how to identify and treat addiction, how to avoid the trap of addiction, how to help oneself or loved ones who are in active addiction and to provide resources to those who have been affected.
The expo is providing the opportunity to network and meet the people who are on the front line helping their communities tackle this national crisis.
There will be speakers throughout the day addressing the community’s call to action and how all can help conquer the opioid epidemic.
There are more than 20 classrooms with interesting topics and important information to choose from.

There will also be a crisis room available to anyone in active addiction that may need help.
The Evesham Police Department will also have its mobile Project Medicine Box present for anyone wishing to dispose of unwanted medications.
