Moorestown Rotary Breakfast Club cleans up Jeff Young Park

The nine-acre park is named for Sgt. Jeffrey Young, USMC, who was killed in a terrorist bombing.

The Moorestown Rotary Breakfast Club has partnered with The Moorestown Recreation Department to become caretakers of Jeff Young Park. Recently, members of the Breakfast Rotary staged a clean up of the park. Over 50 Rotarians, alongside Boy Scout Troop 44, came with their shovels, rakes and sweat to weed, trim, mulch and clean up trash at the park.

Jeff Young Park is located at the corner of New Albany and Lenola Roads and offers a variety of amenities. The nine-acre park is named for Sgt. Jeffrey Young, USMC, who was killed in the terrorist bombing of The United States Marine barracks in Beiruit, Lebanon on October 23, 1983.

Sgt. Young was a Moorestown resident and his parents, Jack and Judy Young, continue to care for the park. This location boasts a recreation center with meeting rooms and restroom facilities. The playground and surrounding fields attract local children daily and many sporting activities. The lighted basketball court and the three tennis courts are filled daily. In addition to becoming the custodians of the Jeff Young Park, the Breakfast Club will also sponsor the Jeff Young Scholarship Award given to a graduating Moorestown High School student.
