Westfield Friends School to hold festival, auction and art sale

The festival will take place this Saturday, May 6 at the Riverton County Club.

Over 200 guests will be attending Art Under the Stars, Westfield Friends School’s spring fête, auction and art sale this Saturday, May 6 at Riverton Country Club, located at 1416 Highland Avenue in Cinnaminson. This fundraising event will bring together current and past parents, friends, family, alumni, and faculty for an evening featuring dinner, dancing, and live and silent auctions.

Event co-chairs, parents Lily Taylor of Cinnaminson and Sharla Floyd of Riverton stated they are “thrilled about the art sale that will present works by professional artists as well as current Westfield students, showcasing our school’s incredible and unique art program.”

Westfield’s visual arts teacher, Deborah Moss Marris, is a professional artist as well as a professor at Camden County College. In addition to teaching all varieties of artful expression, Marris exposes all of our students to art history and the works of the masters, such as Monet, Picasso and Dali.

“Many parents, faculty, and Westfield Friends alumni have worked tirelessly to ensure the success of this special evening to benefit our 229-year old elementary school,” Dr. Jon Hall, head of school at Westfield, said. “We appreciate the efforts of everyone involved, including all of the event sponsors and donors, as well as the many, many volunteer hours devoted to planning this exciting event.”
