Fountain Woods Elementary School parents received an electronic notification Friday, May 5 explaining smoke sighting at the school. The notification explained that some children may have seen smoke coming from the FWS kitchen as a result of some maintenance work.
The children were never in any danger, and the maintenance department and several members of various fire companies all responded and were on site, according to the notification. The situation was addressed without an evacuation, and the fire alarm system was not activated as a result of the smoke.
