Paint the Porch Pink Breast Cancer Walk on Sunday, May 21 in Palmyra’s neighboring town of Riverton raising money for breast cancer awareness and research.

With sponsors from Palmyra businesses and a spot in Palmyra Borough Council’s most recent community spotlight on April 17, the residents of Palmyra are being encouraged to ‘Paint the Porch Pink’ in the neighboring town of Riverton on Sunday, May 21 at 2 p.m.

Paint the Porch Pink Breast Cancer Walk is a family and pet-friendly walk through Riverton that raises money for breast cancer awareness and research. Hosted by The Porch Club of Riverton, the day includes porches decorated “pink” where walkers can stop to enjoy live music and pink refreshments.

Registration begins that Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at the Porch Club of Riverton, on 4th and Howard Streets. Walkers can pick up t-shirts, get their faces painted, listen to music or get a glimpse of raffle prizes. The walk officially kicks off at 2 p.m. when porches will be opened to guests. The event ends at 5 p.m.

Through the porch club’s previous walks in 2011, 2013 and 2015, they have raised more than $54,000.
