Two of the counts were second degree charges and two were third degree.

He was also charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (fourth degree), for having more than 50 grams of marijuana.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the investigation began in January 2017 when the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office HighTech Crimes Unit received intelligence from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children concerning the defendant’s online activities.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the investigation revealed that an image of a pre-pubescent nude male was uploaded by the defendant and shared in an online chat room.

Those with the prosecutor’s office say a search warrant was executed this morning at Froehlich’s residence by detectives from the Prosecutor’s Office and the Evesham Township Police Department, with a thumb drive containing numerous images of child pornography seized along with other digital storage devices that will be analyzed.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, Froehlich was taken into custody without incident and lodged in the Burlington County Jail pending a detention hearing in Superior Court. The charges will be presented to a Burlington County Grand Jury to be considered for indictment.

The case was investigated by Detective Sgt. Dave Kohler, who heads the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office High-Tech Crimes Unit. The unit is a member of the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and the New Jersey State Police Cyber Terrorism Task Force.
