BT Police and Fire announce Emergency Services Youth Academy

Children ages 9 to 14 can get a taste of police work and fire safety through the Emergency Services Youth Academy.

The Burlington Township Police Department, Endeavor Emergency Squad and the Burlington Township Fire Department have announced the formation of the “Emergency Services Youth Academy Class #2” for children ages 9to 14.

The academy will be held at the Burlington Township Municipal Building on Old York Road on July 10 through 13 from 5 to 9 p.m. Graduation is scheduled for July 14 at the Performing Arts Center at the Burlington Township High School.

There will be a special mandatory orientation on June 27 at 7 p.m. at Independent Fire Department on Burlington Bypass. Cadets who register must attend in order to receive their training materials needed for the academy.

Some topics covered include drug awareness, gun safety, first aid and K-9 demonstrations.
