Winslow Township Police host Operation Take Back New Jersey

Get rid of any unused medicine on AprilĀ 29.

On Saturday, April 29, between the hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Winslow Township Police Department will host a collection site at the department for any unused, unwanted and expired medicine.

A drug disposal box will be set up with an officer standing by during these times to collect the medication.

Operation Take Back New Jersey was started in 2010 and collected over 14,436 pounds of unwanted medicine thatĀ year.

The goal of the program is to allow the citizens of New Jersey to deliver all of their unused, unwanted, or expired medications to law enforcement officials who can in turn dispose of these controlled substances in a safe and non-hazardous manner, preventing these pills from falling into the hands of juveniles or into the illicit market in our communities.
