This week, Berlin saw big events for such a small area.

“Always in Style” fashion show celebrates survivorship in Berlin

It was an emotional night at Paris Caterers. The entire ballroom turned to watch as, one by one, women entered through large double doors to model their outfits. As they walked on the stage, their stories were read to the audience. They were stories of survival.

Berlin Celebration Committee starts Celebrate Berlin painting series

On Friday, March 31, residents gathered at the Berlin Community Center for step-by-step instructions on how to create a painting. Alysia Mackenzie, a painter and Berlin resident, taught the class. Her business, Art by Alysia, hosts painting parties where attendants work on their paintings and receive helpful tips while enjoying food and drinks. This will be the first of many painting parties the Berlin Celebration Committee has planned.

Marie Fleche Memorial Library offering two college scholarships

The Trustees and Friends of the Marie Fleche Memorial Library are offering the Lucien P. Fleche Memorial Scholarship to two graduating senior high school students who reside in Berlin Borough. Applications are due Saturday, April 9 at 1 p.m.
