The Waterford Township War Memorial Committee is hosting the fifth annual run/walk that raises money for Winslow Township students.
Registration is open for the fifth annual event. Register online here before April 14 to pay less.
In the past four years, the fundraiser has provided $16,000 for college-bound students from Hammonton and Winslow High School.
This year there will be four scholarships offered. One wil be offered to a senior male wrestler and one offered to a senior female soccer player at Winslow. Amounts and recipients will be provided post-race.
The event benefits the David M. Tapper and Jon T. Hicks Jr. Scholarship funds.Both of these brave men died defending the country, and the event wishes for their memories to help the lives of college-bound seniors.
The event anticipates more than 200 participants. The race starts at 9 a.m. at the corner of Atco and Raritan Aves. Registration is from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m.
The race will proceed down Raritan Ave. left on 6th Street, then back onto Atco Ave., finishing at the American Legion.
