Heavy rain and gusty winds are expected to hit the region this afternoon.
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for Cherry Hill and the remainder of Camden County through 5 p.m. on Thursday.
A weather system packing thunderstorms and heavy rain is making its way into South Jersey as of 1:30 p.m. The National Weather Service said the main threat in the watch area is strong, gusty winds. The NWS had previously issued a Flood Watch with forecasts predicting one to two inches of rain for Cherry Hill and the surrounding area on Thursday.
The weather system moving into the area has produced severe thunderstorm warnings in the southern half of Delaware this afternoon. Anyone in the path of a thunderstorm is urged to seek shelter.
