Lenape High School Latin students win awards at Certamen Competition

Lenape High School students placed in the top three South Jersey spots at the NJCL Certamen Competition.

Lenape High School students of Latin recently competed in the New Jersey Junior Classical League’s 2017 Certamen competition at Princeton University. The competition encompassed a series of events, all centering on knowledge of Latin mythology, grammar, culture and antiquity.

Lenape’s team placed in the top three levels in each South Jersey division: Latin 1. Latin 2, and Advanced. Magistra Robynn Hecht, who teaches Latin, is advisor to the team.

Students included Siddarth Peri, Emily Michnowski, Vishal Goud, Jason Lin, Jake Freeman, Brian Boyle, Branden Spitzer, Allen Sha, Smriti Nair, Alexis Cao, Saransh Chopra, Sahil Trivedi, Nina Gohel, Tyler Huynh, and Anirban Mukherjee.
