This week in Sicklerville, many students got to show off their artistic talents, and a few women were honored for their involvement in the community.

Winslow students compete in Future Chef culinary competition

Before Winslow Township’s Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, March 28, six students from schools 5 and 6 prepared healthy meals for a panel of guest judges, “Chopped” style. Then, at the beginning of the meeting, a team of students from school 3 named the Healthy Heroes gave a presentation about health and fitness.

Winslow Township High School hosts indoor guard competition

The Winslow Township marching band put on two performances this past weekend, using their platform not just to play music, but to tell a story. “Do You Want To Be Healed?” and “A Change is Gonna Come” wowed the judges and the audiences, and the indoor color guard took home the highest score of the competition.

Gloucester Township honors seven residents for Women’s History Month

Seven women were recognized for their involvement and importance to the Gloucester Township community. They included volunteers, high school principals, high school students, and even a wildlife activist.

Red Cross to host blood drive honoring nine-year-old Nico Cassabria

Nine-year-old Nico Cassabria was diagnosed with stage IV high risk neuroblastoma in 2010 at the age of three. After six months in remission, his cancer returned, and Nico’s battle continues today. Nico’s family and friends are sponsoring an American Red Cross blood drive in his honor on Saturday, April 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Erial Fire Company, 1946 Williamstown Erial Road.
