This is another in the series The Sun is running about people who make significant contributions to the Haddonfield community. Dr. Chris Clancey choreographs a cornucopia of activity. Figuratively. Daily. Dr. Chris’ track record of community service is admirable. She was president of the Haddonfield Lions Club in 2005 at age 32 — the first woman president of the club, which she joined at age 27. One of Dr. Chris’ major accomplishments has been directing and overseeing the The Lion’s club’s biggest fundraiser for 12 years.

Haddonfield Board of Education Passes Preliminary Budget

Haddonfield residents could see a significant increase in their school taxes in 2017, according to the preliminary budget passed by the Haddonfield Board of Education last Thursday night. With a 1 percent increase in the total operating budget and a 13.8 percent decrease in state aid, homeowners with a median property value of $488,481 can expect a $259 increase in school taxes, if the budget were passed as presented. For every $100,000 in property value, homeowners will face a $53 tax increase in school tax, according to Rose Wang, assistant business administrator.

Seward Johnson “Crossing Paths” Outdoor Sculpture Leaving Downtown

Haddonfield’s two most famous residents pulled up stakes Friday, March 24. Crossing Paths, a Seward Johnson life size bronze duo, has been on loan from Grounds for Sculpture since October 2015 through the efforts of the Haddonfield Outdoor Sculpture Trust (HOST) but are moving on. Located at Kings Highway near the intersection of Chestnut Street, the ladies became one of downtown’s most popular attractions, popping up in selfies and in group pictures since their installation among the bustling shops and restaurants.
