The Lenape Regional High School District and Evesham Township Board of Education each released budget information this week, the Lenape Regional BOE also honored some Cherokee staff members for saving the life of a fellow staff member and the county has announced its latest job fair. Four staff members from Cherokee High School were recognized with a proclamation for their roles in saving the life of one of their colleagues at the latest Lenape Regional High School District meeting. Athletic trainers Jeff Wood and Karen Hengst, paraprofessional Gary Denelsbeck and nurse-paraprofessional Felicia Progar were all honored for their role in helping revive a teacher who recently went into cardiac arrest with a defibrillator.

Evesham Board of Education approves tentative 2017–2018 school year budget

The Evesham Township School District Board of Education has adopted of the tentative 2017–2018 school year budget for submission to the executive county superintendent. The budget calls for about a 3-cent increase in the tax levy from last year per every $100 of assessed home value. Residents with the average home assessment of $269,900 would see an $81.22 increase for their K-8 school taxes.

Evesham Police look to identify man suspected of using cloned credit card

On Feb. 28, Evesham Police say the male in the accompanying surveillance photograph is suspected of utilizing a cloned credit card to make fraudulent purchases at two Evesham Canal Liquor stores and a Valero Gas Station. Those with information are asked to contact the Evesham Police Department.

Burlington County announces annual ‘Spring Job Fair’ set for March 24

Freeholder Director Bruce Garganio has announced that the Burlington County Freeholder Board will be partnering with the Workforce Development Institute to host the county’s annual “Spring Job Fair” on Friday, March 24. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Kennedy Center located at 429 John F. Kennedy Way in Willingboro.

Red Cross calls for blood, platelet donors after severe weather impacts collections

The American Red Cross is calling for all eligible blood and platelet donors to make an appointment to give to help offset the weather-related shortfall in donations. More than 100 Red Cross blood drives across the eastern United States were canceled due to extreme winter conditions. These cancellations resulted in a shortfall of nearly 4,500 blood and platelet donations on March 14 alone. Check here for a list of events.
