Winter Storm Warning in place as Stella moves toward Shamong
The National Weather Service is had increased the projected snowfall total. The newest projected snowfall totals call for Shamong to receive 8 to 12 inches of snow. Wind gusts of 35 miles per hour are also expected.
The Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Shamong from 8 p.m. on Monday evening through 6 p.m. on Tuesday evening. The warning was issued with heavy snow and strong winds expected to affect the region Monday night and most of Tuesday.
The snow could make many roads impassable and could produce widespread power outages due to the weight of the snow on tree limbs and power lines. The strong winds could lead to blowing snow, low visibility and additional power outages.
