Winslow Township Public Works Department aims for safety in snowy weather

The Winslow Township Public Works Department is working hard to make driving safer and easier in snowy weather. Depending on the duration and amount of snowfall, township trucks may plow streets several times. As snow rolls off the plows, it will accumulate in driveways. Please understand that this is unavoidable and it is the homeowner’s responsibility to clear it.

Here are some helpful hints to make “snow” business less frustrating:

  • Shovel snow to the right side of your driveway (facing the street) to minimize the amount of snow entering your driveway.
  • If possible, wait until the township trucks have made at least two passes on your street before clearing your driveway.
  • Shovel and/or blow snow onto the curb, not into the street.
  • Do not park cars on the street from one hour after snow has continuously fallen until 12 hours after snow has stopped. This speeds the removal process and prevents cars from being plowed in.
  • To insure safety of pedestrians, residents must remove snow from sidewalks following a snow fall. Please remember that children are walking to school and bus stops are all over town.

In the event of deep snow, please shovel around your mailbox and fire hydrants near your house — for your safety and your neighbors’.
If you have a concern, please enter a request on our gorequest app or contact Winslow Township Public Works at (609) 567–0700, ext. 9001.

Not all roads in Winslow Township are maintained by the township. Here is a list of county-maintained roads: Albertsons Road, Blue Anchor Road, Cedarbrook Road, Chews Landing Road, Cooper Folly Road, Crosskeys Road, East Central Avenue, East Fleming Pike (parts of), East Taunton Road, Egg Harbor Road, Erial Road, Factory Road, Hall Street, Hay Road, Hayes Mill Road, Mays Landing Road, New Freedom Road, Norcross Road, Old White Horse Pike, Pennington Avenue, Pump Branch Road, Sicklerville Road, Tansboro Road, Tom Wells Road, Vineyard Road, Waterford Road, Watsontown Road, West Fleming Pike, West Taunton Road, Williamstown Road, Wiltsey’s Mill Road and New Brooklyn Road.
