Preview: MHS Boys Tennis

The team ended the 2016 season with a 22–7 record.

The Moorestown High School boys tennis team is presented with a new challenge this spring. It currently has 10 good players, yet only seven spots available in the regular line-up.

During the 2016 season, the boys ended with a 22–7 record and were undefeated against all South Jersey competition. The team won the Moorestown Classic and were runners-up in CJ III sectionals.

All eight of last year’s starters will be returning to the team along with two quality ninth graders. In addition, the gap between the first spot and tenth is not that great. On any given day the results may vary a good deal.

After one week of practice the coaches, Bill Kingston and Steve Dickerson, have determined that there are six legitimate contenders for the three singles spots. Connor Dickerson, Marc Mounzer and Akshay Bhalodia all return from a year ago, and they are joined by improved play from Adi Bulusu, Dylan Paul and ninth grade student, Peter Leese. The other veterans from last season, all doubles players, are Noah Michaud, David Blatcher and Dan Rohrbach, as well as another ninth grader, Sahel Tilak. The team’s roster is yet to be finalized.
