Burlington County to hold small business expo on Monday

The expo will feature a host of presenters from local organizations.

Burlington County Freeholder Linda Hughes announced that small business owners, entrepreneurs and those considering growing their business are invited to attend the Burlington County Small Business Expo on Monday, March 6 at Burlington County Library Main Branch located at 5 Pioneer Blvd in Westampton starting at 6:30 p.m. The expo will feature a host of presenters from local organizations.

“The Burlington County Small Business Expo is a great networking opportunity for anyone in the business community,” said Hughes, County Liaison for Economic Development. “Whether it is a small business, large business, nonprofit or those new to Burlington County, all can learn more about how to build their businesses and maximize exposure while building relationships and connections.”

“Panelists will discuss the fundamentals of what it takes to sustain a business,” Hughes continued. “Attendees will have the opportunity to learn and gain a greater understanding of financials, labor laws, state and federal regulations and requirements, marketing strategies, and much more.”

Panelists include:

· Robert Palumbo, MBA, Regional Director, NJ Small Business Development Center at Rutgers Camden

o How to best utilize the resources of the Small Business Development Center

· Joan C. Divor, Burlington County Business Services Librarian

o What resources are available at the Burlington County Library System

· Robert B. Worley, Senior Vice President, NJ Market Manager for Republic Bank

o What banks look for when considering a small business loan application

· Mark A. Remsa, Director, Burlington County Dept. Economic Development and Regional Planning

o Small business loan programs and other resources offered through the County

· Sheryl L. Paynter, Lead Lender Relations Specialist, U.S. Small Business Administration

o The SBA loan and grant program– small business loans, microloans, real estate and equipment loans

“The event is part of an ongoing effort within the county to promote economic growth and to encourage more businesses to set-up shop here in Burlington County,” Hughes said.

The Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the Burlington County Bridge Commission organized the expo. The event is free to attend but registration is required.
