Burlington County to hold ‘Outstanding Women of Burlington County Awards’ on March 30

The Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders has announced the winners of the Burlington County Advisory Council on Women’s Annual Outstanding Women of Burlington County Awards.

“The Outstanding Women Awards are a great way recognize and applaud the women in our area that contribute to the community through their exceptional leadership, dedication, and inspiring achievements,” Burlington County Freeholder Linda Hughes said. “These remarkable women of all ages and of diverse cultures and roles have made tremendous impacts on their communities and are role models for all of Burlington County.”

The winners have been chosen from several areas of exceptional service. In addition to the awards being presented, three local students will also receive scholarships in the amount of $1000 each. They will be honored at a banquet on Thursday, March 30 at The Merion Caterers in Cinnaminson. The banquet provides a forum to explore and learn more about the often-unpublicized activities of the award recipients.

This year’s winners include:

· Mentorship: Lucienne “Lucy” Beard — Alice Paul Institute

· Volunteerism: Dorothy Collins — Delaware Valley Baptist Church

· Law: Angie Gambone — Flaster Greenberg

· Education: Elisabeth White McCartney — CTE Health Occupations teacher for Pemberton Township High School.

· Community Service: Reverend Dr. Patricia A. Phillips — Pastor and Founder of Nothing but the Word Deliverance Church

· Celeste Arties Outstanding Student Award & Scholarship Recipient: Olayemi Abiona — student at Florence Township High School

· Elizabeth Coleman White STEM Award & Scholarship Recipient: Alya Ahmad — student at Lenape Regional High School

· Alice Paul Champion Student Award & Scholarship Recipient: Megha Bharadwaj — student at Lenape Regional High School
