Indian Mills Elementary takes part in Read Across America Day

Last Thursday, Indian Mills Elementary School took part in Read Across America Day events. The event, started by the National Education Association, is meant to highlight the importance of student reading.

At Indian Mills Elementary, several students were honored for taking the time to read a number of books. Students who read a certain number of hours were awarded a free ticket to Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson. The following students were honored for reading 10 or more hours: Anny Hernandez-Casio, 74 hours; Ryan Brown, 29 hours; Victoria Brody, 14 hours; Veronica Carney, 14 hours; Shane McClelland, 12 hours; Keira Sawdy, 12 hours; Sadie Rodowicz, 11 hours; Julianna Van Horn, 11 hours; Abby Paetzold, 10 hours; and Joseph Schwartz, 10 hours.
