Cherokee High School offers its congratulations to Cherokee senior Josh Chadwick, who has been named a National Merit Scholarship finalist.

Chadwick will now be considered for National Merit Scholarships.

According to Cherokee High School, the National Merit Scholarship program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships that began in 1955.

Students enter the program by taking the preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship qualifying test, which serves to screen 1.6 million entrants.
