Obituary: Francis “Skip” Slauson

Longtime Haddonfield resident passed away Thursday

On Feb. 23, Francis “Skip” Slauson passed away at the age of 62. Slauson, a resident of Haddonfield for over 30 years was a beloved husband of 37 years to Melissa “Missy” W. (nee White); Loving father of Matthew W. Slauson of Boston, MA; Cherished brother of Henry M., III (Jeannie McGinn-Slauson) and Timothy P. (Alex Nuzzo); Treasured son-in-law of William J. & Joyce W. White and Dear brother-in-law of David W. White (Michele).

Skip was employed by FM Global for 39 years, retiring as Assistant Vice President and Senior Account Engineer. He was very active in Grace Episcopal Church, singing in the Choir, serving on Committees including property & finance, heading the Vestry and at one time chairing the annual Oktoberfest fund drive. Skip loved listening to his son sing, puttering and fixing things in his home, gardening, traveling and fishing — especially at Shadycroft on Lake Champlain. Skip showed his tremendously generous spirit and love of family and friends by always “being with and doing things for people.”

Skip’s family will receive friends Friday evening, March 39 p.m., at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, 15 West End Ave. in Haddonfield. All are invited to his Memorial Service, Saturday, March 4 at 11 a.m., Grace Episcopal Church, 19 Kings Hwy. E. in Haddonfield. Interment will be in the Memorial Garden of Grace Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Skip may be made to the Church at the above address for the Music or Building Fund.
