There are multiple polar bear plunge events taking place this weekend. But if you don’t want to do dive into freezing cold water, don’t worry! Check out what other events are taking place around the region this weekend.

In Medford

  • To kick the weekend off, The Morning After Band will be performing tonight at Ott’s Medford, located at 656 Stokes Road. The “passionate and energetic” band will be performing from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. For more information, click here.
  • Then, on Saturday afternoon from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., the top Pinewood Derby Racers from Cub Scout Pack 47 Shamong, Pack 26, Pack 108, Pack 300 Medford and Pack 48 Medford Lakes will met in the Medford Memorial Cafeteria. This is the first annual Grand Race to crown the top three fastest Pinewood Derby Cars in the area.
  • Also on Saturday, 15-year-old Cherry Hill High School West student Jade Sedeyn has organized two funraising events for financial assistance with her volunteer travels to Ghana this summer. Both events are open to all ages and being held at the Lake Pine Colony Club, located at 2 Chestnut Road in Medford.
    First, a “Pancakes with Princesses” fundraiser will be held from from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m., and will include a pancake breakfast with the ice queen and frost sister from Laura’s Princess Appearances. Here, little ones can experience a magical morning breakfast.
    Second, a “Star Wars Luncheon” fundraiser will take place from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. At this event, attendees can enjoy a pizza luncheon with Star Wars characters and experience an afternoon with kids that is full of stories, games and picture opportunities. At the Jersey Shore

  • Another polar bear plunge will be taking place down the shore this weekend. Seaside Heights will host its plunge on Saturday at 1 p.m. in front of the Spicy Cantina. Registration will be open from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 63 Grant Avenue in Seaside Heights. The minimum registration fee is $25. All proceeds from the event go to Special Olympics New Jersey. In Philadelphia

  • World Café Live will host its annual Beats, Brews and BBQ festival on Saturday. The event will take place starting at 1 p.m. at 3025 Walnut Street in Philadelphia. Attendees can sample more than 30 local and regional breweries. There will be live music at the event. The cost is $50 for general admission and $60 for VIP early admission at noon.   • Go on a journey to Neverland with the Philadelphia School of Circus Arts this weekend. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the school will perform, “Neverland: Origins Youth Circus Soiree.” Travel through Neverland before Peter Pan and discover adventure, danger, acrobatics and what it means to be a pirate. Performances will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, 3:30 and 7 p.m. on Saturday and 6 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for kids 4 to 17 years old.
