Notorious women re-enacted for Women’s History Month

The Margaret E. Heggan Free Public Library will host Kate Butler with presentations re-enacting Lizzie Borden and Mary Mallon.

Celebrate Women’s History Month at the Margaret E. Heggan Free Public Library with the Notorious Women of History series.

Learn about infamous Sunday school teacher Lizzie Borden, when living history re-enactor Kate Butler presents, “The Bizarre Case of Lizzie Borden” on Wednesday, March 8 at 7 p.m. Hear this fascinating story from Lizzie’s point of view.

On Wednesday, March 22, at 7 p.m., Kate Butler returns to the library; this time as Mary Mallon, also known as Typhoid Mary, in “Typhoid Mary: Dinner is Served.” Butler will tell the story of this young Irish immigrant who worked as a cook for several wealthy families and left suffering and death in her wake.
