Washington Township High School was the winner of the 21st Annual Gloucester County Consumer Bowl held on Feb. 13.

The five-member team challenged students from Gateway, Glassboro and West Deptford High Schools to win the title. The Consumer Bowl was played in a game show format that challenged the students’ knowledge and understanding of consumer information and rights in the marketplace.

“These students are our future business leaders and consumers, and they will certainly be a driving force of the economy,” Freeholder Lyman Barnes, liaison to the Department of Consumer Protection said. “Their preparedness in the world is based upon the education they receive in the classroom and we want it to translate to real-life experiences. I am proud of their level of knowledge.”

Washington Township High School will advance to the regional finals in April and will attend a freeholder meeting at a later date to receive special recognition and a proclamation.
