Curtain Call Performing Arts Center to perform ‘Singing in the Rain Jr.’ Feb. 23 to Feb. 25

Curtain Call Performing Arts Center is bringing “Singing in the Rain Jr.” to Mt. Laurel from Feb. 23 through Feb. 25. The show will follow in the dance steps of the 1952 motion picture, depicting the golden age of Hollywood and the transition from silent films to those recorded with sound. Mt. Laurel resident organizing annual ‘Get Your Rear in Gear’ Colon Cancer Society fundraiser

Mt. Laurel resident Maria Grasso is all about having locals get their “Rear In Gear,” figuratively and literally. Driven by the loss of her father and grandfather to colon cancer, Grasso organized her first “Get Your Rear in Gear” event in Philadelphia in 2009 as part of the national Colon Cancer Coalition’s series of fundraisers across the nation. Rep. Tom MacArthur once again introduces Alice Paul Congressional Gold Medal Act

Rep. Tom MacArthur has once again introduced the Alice Paul Congressional Gold Medal Act. The act would posthumously award a Congressional Gold Medal to Alice Paul, to recognize Paul for her role in the women’s suffrage movement and in advancing equal rights for women. Paul was born on Jan, 11, 1885, in Mt. Laurel and died on July 9, 1977.

Mt. Laurel sees some snow this week

Mt. Laurel saw some snow this week, but it wasn’t quite the 4 to 8 inches some weather reports were calling for. The snow did however cause schools to close and cause other delays. In the event of future snow, residents can read up on tips from the Mt. Laurel Police Department on how to help the town with plowing and deicing efforts.

Mt. Laurel Fire Department to host Child Safety Seat Inspections later this year

The Mt. Laurel Fire Department will be hosting Child Safety Seat Inspections for the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department again this year. Current dates are scheduled for: Saturday, April 8, Saturday, June 1o and Saturday, Sept. 9.
