National Signing Day caps off huge year of football for Harrison Hand, Lorenzo Hernandez

For Cherry Hill High School West seniors Harrison Hand and Lorenzo Hernandez, Wednesday was a day they will never forget. Both seniors signed their National Letters of Intent to play football at Division I schools beginning in the fall. Hand will head to Waco, Texas and play at the University of Baylor. Hernandez will attend Villanova University.

Klondike Derby brings together Scouts from across South Jersey

On Jan. 28, more than 200 Boy Scouts and Webelo Scouts from the White Horse District converged on Pine Hill Scout Reservation to compete in the Klondike Derby. The event gave Scouts to test their skills against other Scouts from across the area. Multiple troops from Cherry Hill participated in the competition.

Dillon Hall diving past the competition across South Jersey

Cherry Hill West junior Dillon Hall has been making quite the splash in the diving pool during the 2016–17 season. Hall recently won both the SJISA 6-Dive Championship and the SJISA Jim Roach 11-Dive Championship and is closing in on the Cherry Hill West school record for points in a single meet.

Jane Murphy continuing to mold the minds of young students following retirement

In the third part of the Cherry Hill Sun’s mini-series on the 2017 Camden County Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Medal winners, the Sun spoke with retired teacher Jane Murphy. Murphy decided to return to the classroom shortly after retiring from teaching in 2015. Murphy volunteers at three local schools, helping elementary school students get a better grasp on learning how to read.

Camden County Prosecutor’s Office investigating fire at Cherry Hill home

The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office is conducting an investigation following a fire at a Cherry Hill home on Tuesday morning. The fire took place at 1013 Red Oak Drive in Cherry Hill. A man was found inside the home during the fire. He was treated at the scene and later transferred to a Philadelphia hospital. The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office’s arson unit is leading the investigation.
