BTPD arrest four people in motor vehicle stop

On Jan. 30 at approximately 8:21 p.m., the Burlington Township Police Department conducted a motor vehicle violation on Route 541. The odor of marijuana was detected while at the motor vehicle. The vehicle operator, 26-year-old Divine Pope of Lumberton, admitted that all occupants had been smoking marijuana within the motor vehicle. Other occupants were 23-year-old Adam Clark of Mapleshade, 19-year-old Kavon Carter of Mount Holly and 19-year-old Princess Earth-Laster of Lumberton.

Additional units were dispatched at the location. All subjects were searched and Pope was found to be in possession of a prescription pill without a prescription. A search the motor vehicle revealed 19 foil packages containing marijuana.

All subjects were charged with the marijuana. Pope was found to be wanted out of New York and was charged with being a fugitive from Justice. All but Earth-Laster were remanded to the Burlington County Jail.
