Gloucester Township seeking community service award nominations

These nominations are for African-American members of Gloucester Township to celebrate Black History Month.

To celebrate Black History Month, Gloucester Township Mayor and Council are accepting nominations for African-American members of the Gloucester Township community who have demonstrated significant contributions in the area of community service, personal or professional achievements, or general good deeds that have impacted favorable on Gloucester Township citizens.

The nominations must include an essay supporting the nominee’s accomplishments. Letters of reference and documentation may be included with the application. A three-member panel appointed by the Mayor will evaluate the nominations and the awards will be presented during the Gloucester Township Council meeting on Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m. Ten honorees will be selected.

Nominees should meet the following criteria:

  • Exemplary employment performance does not qualify as community service
  • Must be an exemplary citizen who has demonstrated significant contributions in the areas of community service
  • Must currently reside or work in Gloucester Township
  • Past recipients are not eligible

Nomination forms are available at www.glotwp.com and must be returned on Feb. 9 by 5 p.m. to the township’s clerk’s office, by fax at (856) 374–3527 or by email at [email protected].
