Seniors moving out of New Jersey due to high property tax is right on the money!

I love my home, my neighbors and this town, but I’m preparing to do the same very soon, as I approach retirement.

I certainly want our children to be well educated, but as the cost of living keeps increasing and income decreases, it becomes impossible to stay here.

There are thousands of people who rent their homes or apartments and take advantage of our public schools with two, three, four or five kids each in the system. These folks pay nothing to support our schools. The amount of tax (if any) paid by landlords to support all the school age kids they house is (likely) minimal, while us homeowners foot the bill.

I don’t mind helping to support our community but this is outrageous.
