Mt. Laurel School District reminds families to subscribe to weather emergency alerts

Those who subscribe can receive a call, e-mail and or text to learn if schools close or there is a delayed opening.

With the recent amount of snowfall, the Mt. Laurel School District is remind residents to subscribe to the district’s weather emergency alert system.

Those who subscribe can receive a call, e-mail and or text to learn if schools close or there is a delayed opening.

In the event of a delayed opening or closing, such status will also be posted on the district’s website and Facebook page.

The district’s “School Messenger System” is set-up to call all 4,200 families within 14 minutes. It pulls its information from the district’s PowerSchool Student Information System.

Through School Messenger, the district can call a primary phone number with a recorded message, or if the district has cell numbers for a family, those numbers can be called as well.

In addition, the district will send an e-mail to any e-mail address listed in a Power School account and the district will text the message to a cell numbers as long as an individual has opted-in to receive those messages.

For those who would like to receive emergency notifications via text message, simply text the word subscribe to the number 68453 from a cell phone.

Those who do so will receive an immediate reply confirming subscription to the service.
