Jennifer O’Donnell, Joseph Angeloni and Tracey Lynch were sworn in as newly elected members to three-year terms.
The Gloucester Township Board of Education inducted three new board members at its annual reorganization meeting last week.
Attorney Rich Bobbe swore in Jennifer O’Donnell for a three-year term, and Solicitor Dan Long swore in Joseph Angeloni and Tracey Lynch for three-year terms.
MaryJo Dintino was selected as president, and Mark Gallo was selected as vice president.
Gallo was also selected to be the delegate to the New Jersey School Boards Association, Dintino was selected as the Camden County School Boards Association Executive Committee Member, and Mary Johnson was selected as the Camden County Education Services Commission Member.
Once the board meeting got underway after the inductions, O’Donnell requested an itemized list of bills for all future meetings.
“I’d like an itemized list of the bills that I’ll be voting on,” she said. “Otherwise, I don’t feel like I have all the information to make an informed vote.”
When it was time for the board members to comment, O’Donnell couldn’t be happier to make her first statement as a board member.
“I am thrilled to be here representing the people of Gloucester Township,” she said. “I take that responsibility very seriously, and come visit me here please twice a month.”
After the meeting, O’Donnell continued to say she will be representing the residents of Gloucester Township and said “one voice does work.”
“I am shocked being here, but thrilled to be here,” said O’Donnell, who has two children in the school district. “I was voted by the people, and I will represent the people every step of the way. I attended board meetings for a very long time and saw things that weren’t in the best interest of the kids, and I thought, instead of complaining about it, I’ll step up and do something about it.”
The board of education’s upcoming meeting is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 23 at Glen Landing Middle School.
