EarthWise Pet Supply & Grooming store raises funds for pet oxygen masks

Both the soft and grand opening will present an opportunity to raise needed funds for the Washington Township Fire Department’s purchase of pet oxygen masks.

On Saturday, Jan. 28, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., Teresa Tocco-Davenport and George Davenport are inviting customers to the soft opening of their EarthWise Pet Supply & Grooming store, at 245 Fries Mill Road and Hurffsville Cross Keys Road. Both the soft opening, and the grand opening on Saturday, April 1, also between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., will present an opportunity to raise needed funds for the Washington Township Fire Department’s purchase of pet oxygen masks.

The new store owners are raising funds to supply the local fire department with more of the needed pet oxygen masks in various sizes. In addition to providing a pet oxygen mask collection tin at checkout for any customers who wish to contribute, the Davenports will be presenting the fire department with proceeds from their grand opening sales on April 1.

“The soft opening will offer our pet owner neighbors the chance to see our natural, holistic and organic pet foods, toys, supplies and pet wash and grooming services,” said co-owner Teresa Tocco-Davenport. “We’re leaving a few shelves empty so that customers can tell us what they would like us to carry,” co-owner George Davenport said. Welcoming pet and human store visitors at both openings and every day in between will be Reese, the couple’s friendly cavalier king charles spaniel.

“While saving people’s lives is the first priority, we love our pets, and want to do everything possible to save them,” Patrick Dolgos, Washington Township Fire Chief, said. Currently the Washington Township Fire Department has a limited number of pet oxygen masks and sizes for its Grenloch, Whitman Square, and Hurfville Station trucks. “Ideally, we’d love to have at least 20 masks in all sizes for our fire trucks and emergency medical system vehicles,” Dolgos said.

The grand opening will launch with a mayoral ribbon cutting, giveaways, pizza, balloon animals, dog adoption opportunities from a local shelter, and much more.
