Burlington Township man shot in Burlington City

Thirty-year-old Burlington Township man shot in the leg after being followed into Columbus Park Neighborhood from Philadelphia Area.

On Sunday, Dec. 18 at approximately 5:29 a.m., the City of Burlington Police Department was dispatched to the 400 block of Holmes Drive for a resident hearing gunshots. A few moments later, an individual arrived at the Burlington Township Police Department with a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim, a 30-year-old male from Burlington Township, was transported to Lourdes Medical Center in Willingboro where he is in stable condition.

No houses were struck; however, one unoccupied vehicle was damaged by the gunfire.

The initial investigation revealed that the victim believed he was being followed from the Philadelphia area at which point he attempted to conceal his whereabouts by driving into the Columbus Park Neighborhood. While on the 400 Block of Holmes Drive, he was shot at by a passing vehicle.

Detectives from the City of Burlington Police Department, Criminal Investigation Division responded to the Lourdes Medical Center, the Burlington Township Police Department and the scene on Holmes Drive. In addition, investigators are reviewing surveillance video footage in an attempt to get footage of the suspect vehicle.

City Police and Columbus Park Residents organized and are currently handing out informational letters along with requesting assistance in obtaining information noted below.
