Evesham Police arrest suspect in recent holiday decoration thefts

Donald Thorne, age 27, of Marlton, was charged with six counts of theft along with a third-degree conspiracy to commit possession of heroin with intent to distribute.

On Dec. 15, at approximately 12 p.m., the Evesham Police Department arrested a Marlton man in connection to a string of holiday lawn decoration thefts.

The spree of lawn decoration thefts began on Nov. 26 and continued through the first week of December. The suspect(s) targeted holiday lawn decoctions, specifically inflatables. The inflatables were then sold to unknown locations in Camden County.

The break in the case came when a patrol officer developed information on a possible suspect while speaking with local residents in the affected neighborhoods. Detectives were then able to take that information and identify a suspect. On Dec. 14, an arrest warrant was issued for the suspect, Donald Thorne. At this time he is being charged with six counts of theft of holiday decorations.

Donald Thorne, age 27, of Marlton, was charged with six counts of theft along with a charge of third-degree conspiracy to commit possession of heroin with intent to distribute stemming from an Oct. 27, overdose investigation. He was lodged in the Burlington County Jail in default of $40,500 bail.
