Medford Township Police Department: Weekly Police Reports

The following information was provided by the Medford Township Police Department.

On Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 10:15 p.m. patrols conducted a motor vehicle stop on an Acura sedan for a motor vehicle violation on Church Road in the area of Hartford Road. Upon their approach of the vehicle, patrols observed, in plain view, suspected marijuana inside the vehicle, where the driver, Kenneth R. Leek Jr., was seated. A search of the vehicle was conducted on scene and an additional amount of marijuana was found inside the vehicle. Leek was subsequently arrested, transported to Police Headquarters, and charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession additional motor vehicle violations. He was released on a summons complaint, pending his court appearance in the Medford Township Municipal Court.

On Sunday, Dec. 11, Medford Township Police were dispatched to Femmina Italian Grill located on Stokes Road for a report of a burglary. Employees discovered that the business had been broken into during the overnight hours. Police investigation revealed that an unidentified subject(s) gained entry by force throuhj the front doors and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from a register. Police believe the incident took place between 2:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. Anyone who has information or possible leads should contact Medford Township Police Detectives at (609) 654–7375 or through the anonymous citizen tip line at (609) 714–0302.

On Friday, Dec. 9 at approximately 2:36 p.m., Medford Township Police, Fire, and EMS responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on Hartford Road, north of Church Road. Police arrived to find two vehicles involved, a Volkswagon and a school bus. The bus belonging to GST Transport Corporation was carrying approximately 29 students from Lenape High School. Both drivers and all the students were evaluated by Medford Township EMS and no injuries were reported. The initial investigation revealed that the Volkswagon operated by Richard Inacker of Tabernacle was southbound on Hartford Road and subsequently drifted into the northbound lane, into the path of the school bus, sideswiping it. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
