First Baptist Church to host Community Caroling event

On Sunday, Dec. 11, at 4:30 p.m. there will be a “Community Caroling” event sponsored by the First Baptist Church Moorestown. The church currently has about 15 church members and 25 non-church members gathering at the church.

Former MHS football standout to play in Division III Senior Classic

Former Moorestown High School football standout, Jake Dever, will wrap up his collegiate career at NCAA Division III King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Penn. on Saturday, Dec. 17 when he plays in the 2016 Division III Senior Classic at Doug Shaw Stadium in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Kickoff is slated for 12:30 p.m.

MHS’s Combustible Lemons FRC team to host first FLL Qualifying Event

Moorestown High School’s Combustible Lemons FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team is excited to host its first official FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Qualifying event as part of the new Southern NJ region of FLL. The event will be held on Saturday, Dec. 17 beginning at 8 a.m. at the Upper Elementary School, located at 325 Borton Landing Road.

To provide residents with festive home inspiration, the 53rd annual Cooks Tour of Moorestown, sponsored by the Auxiliary Board to Virtua Memorial, is held each year and features some of the most eloquently decorated local homes.

Lee R. Lieber to be sworn in as Chief of Police

Moorestown born and raised Lee R. Lieber was sworn into the Moorestown Township Police Department in August 1978 as a patrolman. Since then, he has served a number of roles within the township, but is scheduled to be sworn in as police chief at the Moorestown Town Council meeting on Monday, Dec. 12.

Remediation continues at Percheron Park site

The Friends of Percheron Park is the local citizens’ group formed in 2011 to raise funds to develop Percheron Park at the intersection of Main and High streets. On Thursday, Dec. 1, remediation efforts continued at the site, which was also a former gas station.

Brandywine Living Expands the “Life Through Art — My Story” Program

Following the success of their pilot program earlier this year, Brandywine Living and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) continued their collaborative art program, “Life Through Art — My Story,” for their residents at three of Brandywine’s South Jersey communities in Moorestown, Haddonfield and Voorhees.

An English Christmas Concert with West Jersey Chamber Choir

An English Christmas Concert with West Jersey Chamber Choir will be held on Sunday, Dec. 11 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. The event will be held in the expansive sanctuary of the First Presbyterian Church, located at 101 Bridgeboro Road.

Two Moorestown Ballerinas Star in South Jersey Ballet’s Nutcracker

For more than two decades, the South Jersey Ballet School has put together performances of the famous ballet, “The Nutcracker.” This year, in its 25th anniversary production, two teenage Moorestown residents, Kasey Hogeboom and Elizabeth Safaryn, will take the stage.
