Evesham Police and Fire Departments work together to identify and arrest suspected arsonist

On Dec. 6, through cooperation between the fire and police departments, suspect Kimberly Gontowski of Marlton was arrested.

The following report is on file with the Evesham Township Police Department:

On Nov. 21 at 6:56 p.m., the Evesham Fire and Police Department responded to the Alison Apartments, 31 N. Maple Ave for an apartment that was on fire.

The police department quickly evacuated neighboring apartments while the fire department extinguished the fire.

The quick action by the fire department resulted in no structural damage to the apartment building.

On Dec. 6, through a cooperative investigation between the fire and police departments, an arrest warrant for arson was obtained for the suspect, Kimberly Gontowski.

At 5:30 p.m. the suspect was taken into custody by the police department in the 2500 block of Eagle Row, Marlton.

Arrested:

Kimberly Gontowski, age 30, of Marlton, was charged with second-degree arson and third-degree burglary. Gontowski was released after posted $50,000 bail.
