High school sports roundup: Cherry Hill West girls swimming snags first win of season

The Lions defeated Seneca High School on Tuesday to earn their first victory of 2016–17.

Cherry Hill High School West girls swimming won its first dual meet of the season on Tuesday as they defeated Seneca High School, 116.5–53.5. The win improves the Lions record to 1–1.

A Cherry Hill West swimmer finished in first place in all but three events. Maggie McMillan led Cherry Hill West with a first place finish in the 200 IM and helped the Lions win to 200 medley relay and the 400 freestyle relay. Anna Mecca won the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke for Cherry Hill West. Blair Brown was victorious in the 50 freestyle and the 100 backstroke.

The Lions’ next dual meet is scheduled for Dec. 12 against Rancocas Valley Regional High School. The meet will take place at Rowan College of Burlington County’s Pemberton campus.
