Burlington County’s “Recycle Coach” app keeps residents up to date on recycling schedules

Burlington County Freeholder Mary Ann O’Brien has announced that the Burlington County Freeholder Board has launched “Recycle Coach,” an innovative mobile app designed to allow residents to stay up to date on their municipality’s recycling schedule.

“Recycling is critical for our environment and helps to conserve resources for future generations,” O’Brien said. “Through this app we can increase recycling rates and divert even more waste from landfills and, by doing so, create economic benefit, realize energy savings and reduce carbon emissions.

O’Brien said every item the county is able to recycle is one less item that townships have to pay to put in a landfill using local taxpayer money.

According to O’Brien, each year county recycling saves taxpayers more than $3.4 million in diverted tipping fees.

“The app will make recycling even easier as it allows residents to set personal recycling reminders, check if an item can be recycled, or report any problems immediately,” O’Brien said. “Residents can download this free and easy to use app from the app store on their mobile device.”

Residents can ask questions or provide their feedback by emailing recycle@co.burlington.nj.us or calling (609) 499–1001.
