Cherry Hill Fire Department named an ISO Class 1 Fire Department

The new designation is the highest Public Protection Classification grade a fire department can receive.

Cherry Hill Fire District №13 has received an upgrade in its Insurance Service Office designation after a recent re-evaluation on the quality of fire protection for the township.

The Cherry Hill Fire Department has received the designation of an ISO Class 1 Fire Department. The designation became effective on Dec. 1. The fire department had previously been designation an ISO Class 2 department since 1999.

Cherry Hill Fire Chief Thomas Kolbe announced the new designation in a letter to residents. Residents are encouraged to share the letter with their insurance agents. Insurance companies use the classification to establish fire insurance premiums.

A class one designation is the highest Public Protection Classification grade a fire department can receive. The recent ISO analysis reviewed the operation of the fire department, the public water supply system, emergency communications and community risk reduction efforts.
