The accident took place shortly after 7 p.m. on Tuesday near the Greentree Road intersection at Route 70. Cherry Hill Police say the driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene after the accident. Both pedestrians were transported to Cooper Trauma. One woman has been released, while the other woman was admitted to the hospital in critical, but stable, condition.
Greentree Road between Route 70 and Olney Avenue was closed for nearly five hours on Tuesday evening following the accident. The road was re-opened shortly after midnight.
Police say the driver is cooperating with authorities. There was no evidence of impairment during the initial investigation.
