The following information was provided by the Medford Township Police Department:

On Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 8:22 hours, Medford Police observed a suspicious vehicle on the side of McKendimen Road with two occupants inside the vehicle. Police made contact with the occupants inside of the vehicle. Upon making contact with the occupants, police immediately detected an odor or raw and burnt marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. The two individuals were taken into custody and transported separately and processed at police headquarters. The juvenile male was later turned over to a guardian and the second male was released on a summons complaint pending court.

On Friday, Nov. 11 at 3:31 p.m., Medford Police responded with Medford Township Fire Department to RPI Industries at 220 Route 70 for a report of a dumpster fire. Upon arrival heavy smoke was emanating from a garbage compacter behind the business. The Medford Township Fire Department extinguished the fire that was within the dumpster. The Medford Township Fire Marshall determined there was no signs of foul play, and the cause of the fire was spontaneous combustion from discarded wood products and finishing rags. Negative damage to the compactor or business resulted from the fire.

Medford Police were called out to the 500 building of Cedar Drive for a past tense criminal mischief complaint. Further investigation by officers on scene revealed that between Friday, Nov. 11 at 5 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 12, at 1 p.m., unknown suspect(s) had keyed both sides of the victim’s 2016 white Kia Optima. Estimated damage to the vehicle was $500. A police investigation into this incident is continuing.

On Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 3:21 p.m., Medford Township Police, Fire and EMS responded to a residence in the unit block of Skeet Road for the report of smoke in the area. Upon arrival, police officers observed heavy smoke and fire emanating from a second floor window. The residence was confirmed as evacuated.

Medford Township Fire, assisted by Medford Lakes, Evesham, Tabernacle, Lumberton, Southampton, Shamong, Hainesport and the New Jersey Forest Fire Service, worked the fire. The Medford Township Fire Police, Burlington County Fire Police, Burlington County Fire Marshall and Virtua Medics also assisted. The fire went to two alarms prior to being placed under control at 4:08 p.m.

The residence suffered extensive fire smoke and water damage resulting in the occupants being displaced. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Medford Township Fire Marshall in conjunction with the Medford Township Police Criminal Investigations Bureau.

On Saturday, Nov. 5 at approximately 3:28 p.m., patrols conducted a motor vehicle stop on Taunton Boulevard and Chestnut Road for seatbelt violation. Upon their approach of the vehicle, patrols could detect the odor of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle where the female passenger was seated. An on-scene search of the vehicle was conducted and a clear plastic bag containing suspected marijuana was located, along with three pink pills that could not be identified. The female was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Medford Township Police Headquarters. She was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and released on a summons complaint, pending her court appearance in the Medford Township Municipal Court.
