Author Kirsty Gunn to read at Rowan College at Burlington County on Wednesday, Nov. 16

Gunn will read from her latest book, “My Katherine Mansfield Project,” in the college’s Laurel Hall Lounge at 5 p.m.

Rowan College at Burlington County’s English department, with participation from the college’s Creative Writers Guild, invites the community to a reading with author Kirsty Gunn on Wednesday, Nov. 16. Gunn will read from her latest book, “My Katherine Mansfield Project,” in the college’s Laurel Hall Lounge at 5 p.m.

In “My Katherine Mansfield Project,” a lyrical essay, Gunn explores the ideas of home and belonging — and of her own deep connection to a place where every flower and gatepost seems embroidered with the memory of some story or another.

Gunn’s books have been broadcast, turned into film and dance theater, and are the recipient of various prizes and awards, including Scottish Book of the Year 1997. A regular contributor to a range of international newspapers and magazines, she is also professor of writing practice and study at Scotland’s University of Dundee, where she established and directs the writing program. She lives in London and Scotland with her husband and two daughters.

This is a free event hosted by RCBC.
