Letter to the Editor: Debra Roberts

I read the Moorestown Sun article, “Charity in Motion,” about a local teenage girl who started a chain reaction from her spirit to her family and friends to a bicycle shop in Erlton to Camden’s Urban Promise to kids who treasure bicycles to Our Lady of Good Counsel to other teenagers to…me.

I thought about this chain of communicating progressively positive experiences to many! I also was reminded of some famous quotes by another teenage girl:

“Despite everything, I believe that people are really good at heart.” — Anne Frank

“I see the world being slowly transformed into a wilderness; I hear the approaching thunder that, one day, will destroy us too. I feel the suffering of millions. And yet, when I look up at the sky, I somehow feel that everything will change for the better, that this cruelty too shall end, that peace and tranquility will return once more.” — Anne Frank

“I must uphold my ideals, for perhaps the time will come when I shall be able to carry them out.” — Anne Frank

Hear, hear! To all those young people who gain awareness, know their actions and words matter and realize that it takes a village. We’re in this melting pot together.
